my story
My name is Lara Rowlett, and I am a dog trainer who looks at the whole picture, not just obedience cues. To create a plan for you and your dog, I look at your dog’s genetics, health, environment, past experiences, household dynamics and nutrition. My goal is to help you understand your dog, meet their needs and live with a dog who feels like a good fit, not a constant project.
A well-rounded, well-trained, physically and emotionally healthy dog is my favorite kind of companion, and puppies are my soft spot. The relationship I have with my own dogs comes from years of work, consistency, clear communication and real compromise. I want you to have that same feeling at home.
my training philosophy
My training philosophy follows the LIMA model, which stands for Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive. In practice, that means I use the gentlest effective approach and build training on trust, clarity and fair expectations.
Over the years I have shown dogs, worked in a grooming shop, shadowed dog trainers and spent the last seven years in focused study to deepen my understanding of behavior and training.
